Growing up, God to me was everything. Although very religious, I decided to get even closer to him by actually reading the entire Bible. I was appalled by a lot of what I saw there. Eventually, after much soul searching and researching, I became a non-believer. It's time for me to go back and make a final decision one way or the other. Religion is an idea about how the world works — and it’s just as valid to criticize it in public forums as it is to criticize any other idea. If you think it’s okay to criticize ideas about politics, science, medicine, art, philosophy, food, and so on… why should religion be treated any differently?
